Functional Ceramic Forms

Students compare and contrast functional ceramic forms from various cultures and time periods. They also look at the work of various ceramic artist who build clay vessels. Students plan their own function ceramic piece and review handbuilding techniques.

Then, they work to construct their form. Through this process they make original design choices, problem solve, and persevere. They glaze their finished pieces to add exciting colors and textures to their pieces!
