Cardboard Architecture
Students created these mixed media cardboard constructions on their own or in a small group. We learned about the artist Ana Serrano, looked at the Thorne miniature rooms, as well as pictures of other cardboard artwork. We compared and contrasted what places and structures make up our community with other communities around the world.
Students sketched out ideas, made plans and measurements, and then started their main construction with cardboard. They added detail with wood pieces, paper, wire, fabric, paint, etc. It was so fun to share our pieces, seeing the various architectural styles and hearing about each unique concept.
